The Capodimonte Museum
The royal palace was built from 1738 to 1758 in a park of about seven square kilometers of extension. Wanted by Charles of Bourbon as a hunting reserve was used to show the fabulous collections of home Farnese. In 1743 the park was built a building used for the construction of the type Meissen porcelain. Here were built a hermitage, and in 1819 sought by Queen Caroline, the observatory astronomical.
In 1957, after two years of restructuring for the damage caused by the war, the regiment was finally used as a museum. Consisting of about a hundred rooms, the museum conteniene collections and donations from individuals and institutions. The Capodimonte Museum, with its two thousand paintings, sculptures and armory, can be considered one of the most important in Europe. The complex is equipped with a laboratory for restoration and a photo lab to document the scientific work.
