Madre Museum
The MADRE Museum (Museum of Contemporary Art Donnaregina) is located in the historic Palazzo Donnaregina of Naples, Via Luigi Settembrini.
Opened (partly) on 11 June 2005, in 2007 it was completely finished and enlarged the exhibition space by Portuguese architect Alvaro Siza. It was also positioned on the roof of the palace, a great horse that stands on the limestone surrounding neighborhoods. The rooms house monographs of internationally renowned artists such as Andy Warhol, Alberto Burri, Lucio Fontana, Robert Mapplethorpe, Francesco Clemente, Jannis Kounellis, Giulio Paolini, Richard Serra, Jeff Koons, Richard Long, Rebecca Horn, Mimmo Paladino and many others, well as interesting art exhibitions regularly. The museum has an area of 8,000 m2 with a restaurant, bookshop, two courtyards and a disco on the second floor (the latter open one evening a week).
